As part of the mandatory safety program required to participate in Little League International, all managers, coaches and umpires are to receive the rudimentary knowledge of concussions. 


Pursuant to the guidance of Little League International, managers, coaches and umpires are to receive access to information as provided under Virginia law (available at http://www.littleleague.org/learn/programs/childprotection/concussions/ConcussionsVirginia.htm and http://law.lis.virginia.gov/vacode/22.1-271.5/ ), through the United States Centers of Disease Control (available at http://www.cdc.gov/headsup/) , and as provided and updated through the Virginia Board of Education (available at http://www.doe.virginia.gov/boe/guidance/health/2015_guidelines_concussions_in_student_athletes.pdf) and the  Virginia High School League (available at http://www.vhsl.org/sportsmed.concussions ). 


No child who has sustained a concussion, regardless of the circumstance or location of the injury, may physically participate in any Alexandria Little League practice, game, or other activity without prior written approval by a physician evaluating the child clearing the child for active participation.
